Careers at Schoolhouse
Are you inspired by the thought of building a new school in San Francisco? Do you have the leadership skills to work with students who love to learn, and who have a high sense of social responsibility?
San Francisco Schoolhouse is always on the search for highly motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative teachers.
Lead teachers at Schoolhouse team teach in mixed-grade classrooms. Our multi-age classes are grades K+1, 2+3, 4+5, and 6+7+8. Small by design, we enroll approximately twelve - eighteen students in each grade.
At Schoolhouse, we view teachers as lead learners alongside a group of children. A successful Schoolhouse teacher views themselves not as givers of wisdom, but as learners with more experience who have insights to share with fellow learners. We have found that adults who are comfortable serving as models, questioners, reflectors and encouragers (as well as instructors), and who love to collaborate, facilitate, guide, coach and mentor children as they learn and play, are best suited for teaching at Schoolhouse.
