Nuts and Bolts
Session 2 will last 10 weeks, beginning the week of 11/26/18 and ending the week of 2/11/19. The week of 2/25 will be used for make-up classes, if needed. (Exceptions - A few of the programs will have 9 classes instead of 10 due to scheduling constraints. These classes are: Cooking, Legos, Free Dance, Robotics, Puppetry, Drama, Music with Gina, Yoga, and Film).
Relationship to the Extended Care Program:
For EP classes that begin at 2:15 pm for K+1, and 3:30 pm for 2nd-7th, students will have 15-30 minutes between dismissal and the start of class. During this time, the students will be with the Extended Care Program teachers and have snack provided by the school. Parents will NOT be charged for this time as the costs for snack and care is incorporated into the price of the class. For classes that start more than 30 minutes after your child is dismissed by his or her teacher, Extended Care Program fees will be assessed. After classes end, if a student is not picked up, he or she will be placed in the Extended Care Program, and the family will be charged. If a child is taking more than one enrichment class on the same day, he or she will not be charged for the time between classes.
Costs for the classes vary depending on what the program charges the school, equipment needs, and room usages. Specifics about each class can be found on the Family Portal at the school’s website. If a class does not take place because the school is closed or a teacher has to cancel, there will be a make-up class or families will be reimbursed for that particular class. If a student misses a class then there will be no reimbursements. EP fees are non-refundable.
The classes will be charged via the FACTS payment system on Monday, December 17.
The enrichment classes often require a minimum number of students in order to be financially feasible for the teacher or program. If a class does not have the minimum students, we will notify you as soon as possible that the class will not be taking place.
Space is limited in many of the classes. When classes are oversubscribed, we use a lottery process to select participants. Students not selected will be given priority for the next session of that class. To be eligible for the lottery, a family must have registered for a class by the sign-up due date.
