Tuition
Tuition for 2023-2024 is $19,784.
How the modest tuition model works:
Philanthropy and strong parent volunteerism allow Schoolhouse to stay faithful to our founding principle--to offer young families an excellent, progressive independent school education in San Francisco at a cost more accessible than peer schools. Schoolhouse was founded by two teachers and dedicated families who provided the seed money to realize our vision.
Today the Schoolhouse culture of generosity is stronger than ever in our small, committed community. 100% of our families, faculty, staff, and trustees come together to contribute over $225,000 to our Annual Fund and Spring Fundraiser. This support, along with the vital work of parent volunteers--for facilities, administrative, and tech services--keeps tuition reasonable and competitive and our community spirit high.
San Francisco Schoolhouse is committed to a diverse community. The Board of Trustees is aware that our modest tuition model may be out of reach for some families. Accordingly, the Board is working to develop a tuition assistance plan for the school, K-8. In the interim, we ask that interested families contact the Head of School if they have questions about how to make the Schoolhouse education more accessible. All requests for tuition assistance must be made when a family submits the application.

We offer three payment plans:
-
one payment due June 1
-
two payments due June 1 and December 1
-
six payments due June 1, July 1, August 1, September 1, October 1, and November 1
We use FACTS to collect tuition, and also to bill families for use of our Extended Day Program. All Schoolhouse families are required to create an account with FACTS Tuition Management. To create an account, start here.
