Inspiring and Preparing Students for the Futures of Their Choosing

San Francisco Schoolhouse's Middle School is a 21st-century microschool where childhood and adolescence are honored and celebrated. Each student is supported for who they are, their strengths, and their unique personalities. Schoolhouse’s innovative curriculum builds core skills, social-emotional competencies, and civic engagement in both single- and multi-age groups. We teach differentiated skills and organize our curriculum through interdisciplinary, project-based units to hone inquiry skills. In addition to our spacious classrooms on campus, we use San Francisco’s parks, neighborhoods, ecosystems, and cultural institutions as teaching spaces.

Schoolhouse offers several sports opportunities through the San Francisco Independent Athletic League (SFIAL).

Through these programs, students learn about sportsmanship, being a good team member, healthy competition with other schools, representing Schoolhouse, and getting plenty of exercise!
